Hey, wondering how to improve as a sailor, I have fished off the coast of Rupert and Kitimat with other skippers, and sailed a 28 footer on Lake Eerie for 12 years, logged a thousand sea miles, or so. Natalie and I would like to cruise the coast from Rupert or Van up to Kitsault/Alice Arm and Gingolix area. We are very nervous about the tides, races etc.... other than taking the power squadron course, again, what would you recommend before making a commitment to buying a boat there.
