Hi Svan - I picked your comment on NYS canals ( St Lawrence uses students at their locks - do you know if a solo cruiser can pick up a deckhand at locks on the St Lawrence (Lake Ontario through Montreal ) to pass through ? The Pleasure Craft Guide says a boat must have a minimum of two persons - I plan to cruise in several weeks - mid-June
