    Hi, I found a post from you where you seem to have found a 24v starter for a westerbeke 40 / perkins 4.108. Did you ever get this installed? If it worked for you it sure would save me a ton of work. Thanks

    Paul

    Interests
    I own a boat, therefore I have no life, hobby is standing in cold shower shredding hundred dollar bills into confetti. the boat does not allow time or money for other hobbies.
    Biography
    My boat:
    a 1984 Passport 42. 3rd owner. same boat Hull as the Slocum 43 & Formosa 42 but my interior is different. I may have the only pilothouse version of the Passport 42. there are 8 pilothouse versions of the Slocum 43, however the pilothouse on that boat is much different. the story i was told by the previous owner that the boat was originally owned by the owner of Passport Yachts. I believe it was an example prototype boat for the pilothouse layout which is listed in the brochure. the pilot house interior was made custom for him and doesn't match the layout in the brochure. i have been living aboard and refitting it since 2018. it was trucked from San Diego to Norfolk, Virginia in 2020 when i transferred. its 37 years old now and everything seems to be falling apart and i have been having to replace a lot of the systems and do an unanticipated major refit since 2019/2020. currently installing an HAVC/AC system and painting the mast, and about 4-12 other major boat projects it seems. i have spent a lot of time at sea and on the water with the navy, so i have a bad tendency to overbuild things, or have redundant systems.

    Currently;
    BMC, (EXW/SW) US Navy. Currently at Expeditionary Warfighter Development Center in Virginia where I plan/coordinate large training exercises and conduct executive level training. Boatswainsmate by trade however i concurrently been working as a Systems Engineer. i will be retiring from the Navy Feb 2023, and will be knocking out some ABYC certs, and a surveyors course, prior to going to school for mechanical engineering to use my MGI Bill.

    I have been working on, inspecting and repairing small boats and Their systems for over 30 years, power and sail. work with diesels, electrical, fiberglass and other systems. over the last 21 years of the navy i have been involved with developing the maintenance for 3 new boat platforms, 2 UAV's and a ton of boat, diver or EOD equipment. i have extensive experience small boat operations and tactics, Cummins 5.9 BTA and QSB, and 6.7 marine diesel engines, Mercury, Honda, and Evinrude outboards, and training programs for boat operations, engineering, and maintenance.

    History;
    Born and raised along the Kenai River, Alaska. Grew up running small skiffs and playing on small commercial fishing boats. crewed on a fishing boat at 14 helping to clean up the Exon Valdez oil spill, in Prince William sound, Alaska. Had my coastguard six pack and helped my buddy with his fishing guide business through high school.
    got stuck when i helped my parents move to Modesto Califonia in 1995. hated California so much and missed the ocean, that i enlisted in the Navy. first tour was Yokuska Japan where i was one of the primary RHIB operators for the ship until i transferred back to the states in 2003. Transferred to San Diego where i lived until 2020, im sure that the universe finds that hilarious. i like San Diego, but my opinions on California still haven't changed much. worked on an LCU 2003-20
