    40 years a Merchant Mariner. USCG licensed Master.
    55 years a Sailor. My first boat, a Sunfish, I built myself. Small amount of racing. Wednesday around the buoy races on 30 to 40 footers. Just enough to know I'm a Cruiser, not a racer.
    I lost my 27 ft. O'day to Hurricane Katrina. I was no where near it when the storm hit. (smart).
    Present boat, a 34 ft. Ericson, is what I consider a fast cruiser. But a little too small for a live aboard. And Lake Michigan has too short a sailing season. So, I'm dreaming of a 40 ft. live aboard to keep in Florida.
