I don't have any digitized pics of the old interior but I'll take some of the old hard copies.
The trick with the chart table hinges was having it not wieghted while up or down...while unlocked it will stay in either possision.
I still have another moving piece to go in the galley....it a "sandwich bar sort of thing that will have a cool kind of mechanisim that alows it to fold out of the way under that horizontal bar ( SS wraped in paper) comming off the cabinet near the sink.
Did you notice the dogable hinges...they have an elongated slot so I can dog the whole hatch down...the rubber's not in yet so they are normally down...you can see my fingers holding it up.
The counter and sink is like corian...I don't remember the brand name...it works with wood working tools...I didn't do this piece with my hand, it was a local shop with a big shaper.
The trick is to consider the expansion and contraction in the design...I have an "under cut" in the wood (back and side) of an extra 3mm to alow for this movement. Its been through all the seasons and hasn't bottomed out ....yet!
The stuff can be heated in an oven and bent over a mold...and laminated with absolutly no visible seam!
    Great stuff.
I'm in the hotel in Dubai laying over...will be back in Yemen tomorrow and will try and send the pics....I dont like using this forum for this because It takes me so long to down load, and If I try and spell check I get a font error and have to rewrite everything....with out...and that just embareses me!

Great quote ...isnt it the truth!!
My dad almost never emails me because he always wants to get it just right.....he says it just takes to long.
Yeh....I had a look at your recent pics, sure looks nice.
    Did you replace the chainplates?
Well thats the end of this trip...I always hate to leave her.
I spent the last hour doing some house keeping so I could get a couple decent pics..If I have the time I'll down load some....the conection here in Leb is soooo slooooow.
Things must be cooling off in your neck of the woods. I love the shelter you've got over the boat. No problems when the wind blows...it looks pretty darn tight.

Thanks Christian....nothing like a pat on the back to keep the motivation up.
The first couple designs of the latch had about twice as many pieces (mocked up in 3mm ply) then it just kept getting simpler and simpler....in the end I felt like an idiot for spending so much time on what ended up being so simple!
I've go a kind of cool chart table as well...when sailing I want it flat so I can set stuff on it. I installed it on some heavy duty hinged locking brackets.
Also the old chart table surface was pretty scratched and battered so I put a sacrificial tinted lexan insert over the nice teak top....The color made an amazing effect to the whole area. I'll try and post some pics of it.
I'm not seeing any updates from your side....wa-sup!!
