I won't get into the foray about brokers. You have plenty of information in the thread. I would avoid them until you know more about what you want and how to evaluate them. I'm selling my boat and have not even advertised other than an obscure craigslisting in Tucson (tucson.craigslist.org/boa/d/arivaca-downeast-45/7436809279.html) and there are lots of boats out there that fit your needs. If you are just buying locally, find a good surveyor and have him/her look at the boat and if you want it and it's documented, go through a title agency. If it's just registered you can buy it like a car.
