Biography

Frank has over 40 years of sailing experience. Frank began racing at the St. Petersburg Yacht Club's Optimist Dingy program by age 15 had competed at a world-class level on 4 continents. His final Optimist regatta was as a member of the 1981 U.S. World Team at the World Championships in Howth, Ireland.

After graduating from the Optimist, Frank immediately began campaigning in the Laser class. Frank qualified for the U.S. Youth Sailing Championships every year he was eligible and in 1985 won the privilege of representing the USA at the World Youth Sailing Championships in St. Moritz, Switzerland. Frank also qualified for the Laser Open World’s twice while still a “Junior”.

Frank began his “Big Boat” Ocean racing career on the Maxi-Yacht Ondine VII. At 18, Frank was the youngest sail trimmer ever in the class. Frank lived aboard Ondine for 2 seasons taking him from his home in St. Pete to Newport, Azores, Antibes, Palma de Majorca, Ibiza, Porto Cervo, Monaco, St. Tropez, and virtually every port city on the Mediterranean from Gibraltar to Venice. It was during this period of intense racing that Frank met and befriended many of the World’s best racing yachtsmen. Many of these friendships continue today as Frank still races in many world class events.

Frank's 40 years of experience make him uniquely qualified in assisting his clients. His clients get the benefit of not only his knowledge of yacht design, systems, and construction, but his real-world experience while at sea and in many of the cruising destinations around the world.
