Hi Frank - I am new to sailing. Wrapping up my ASA Basic class.
I live in St James, NC and will be up on Cape Cod in August, driving back to NC, hitting the NYC area.

I am looking to gain experience sailing as well as photography. The problem is, I don't have a boat, to take photos of boats. I hope to be out of a fulltime job by Sept and would love to know when you're looking for crew.

not sure if it is the same boat.
apparently I am the third owner, the first was Herbert Schwartz (boat name was Wenden) and he sold the boat to a person in New Hampshire.
unless you may know something I do not ��
It is however a great boat very fast in light air for a Swan, apparently it was customized by Nautor. I plan to race it I think but we will see. I am torn between racing and cruising.
Let me know if you have any information on this boat.

Frank, sounds like a fun cruise, I would definitely be interested in lending a hand. so far those dates sound workable to me. seems like a fair bit of distance to cover in a week however. I have no problem sailing the boat fast and hard, but I cannot dedicate much more than that week, due to my summer job. Let me know your thoughts i apologize for the late response

Hi Frank, got your inquiry about crewing for your trip down to the Chessie. I'd be a fool not to jump at the chance to crew on a J/40 (I've made the trip from Oxford to Martha's Vineyard and back on a J/46 a few times) and I might well be in a position to join you but I won't know until mid-April or so. I'll check back with you then to see if you still have an open berth. Thanks for for the invitation.

BTW, I grew up in Oyster Bay, right down the shore from you!
