    ABOUT ME

My main interest is travel and I have been fortunate to have spent a fair amount of time roaming the world; I've managed to visit over 30 countries across 6 continents now. I own a tech business which allows me the freedom to be mobile. People would probably describe me as polite but fun, honest, dependable, relaxed-demeanor yet outgoing and hardworking! I'm self motivated and try to keep reasonably fit.

I grew up in the Pacific Northwest which lends to my appreciation of the outdoors. As for family I've never been married and have no children; I do keep close ties with my immediate family. I thrive on new experiences and seeing new places.

    SAILING

I am motivated and excited to become more involved in sailing. I currently have very limited experience having only sailed on my father's 19' West Wight Potter. However it is a goal of mine to purchase a liveaboard in the 42' and above range: I plan to reach that goal by 2018. I have spent a fair amount of time on powerboats and am comfortable docking, going through locks, etc.

I previously owned a Checkmate (speedboat) and have worked on larger boats (cruise liners) as a thermographer in the past so I have gained some basic familiarity with terminology, etiquette, knots and the like. I have not shown any tendencies toward sea-sickness in the trips I have taken. I am mechanically inclined having taken on most automotive rebuild tasks (from engine rebuild to fiberglass work) but I have yet to work on boats. I do like getting my hands dirty though and don't mind taking on a challenge.

At this point I would like to gain more hands-on experience on the open waters and consume as much nautical education as I possibly can. I understand it may take some time to get welcomed into the community but I am hoping to find some good souls who will take me under their wing and share their knowledge of piloting a vessel.
