    Nia:

    Thought I's say Hello.

It looks like you are my closest neighbor on CF. I Live in Halfway, Oregon another landlocked sailor.

My boat is not nearby though its now in Charleston, SC. Going back soon to work on the boat a bit. Looking to sail it to the Bahama's this January for 4 to 6 weeks.

I am a retried Forest Service employee but still work part time. With a BS in Forest Management and one in Range Management. I saw you work listed as "Looking at weeds" wondered if you were working in natural resource monitoring or something on that order.

I'm also am photographer but no claim to quality just lots of documentary stuff from forestry, fire fighting, vegetation management, etc. I like the pictures you have posted on your website and CF.

Maybe we will run into each other some time.

    Or not wearing :-)

well Nia, you just have to either get a bigger boat (size does count!), or get out and crew more often. by the way, lots of people looking for crew in the Med if that interests you. oor you can hop on the Danish Ocean Cruisers Association and they will hook you up with someone that charges between 15 and 30 dollars a day (all inclusive except alcohol).

Yes, well if I do say so myself, I am quite dashing (no one else seems to say it, so I might as well LOL). Since I have the tux, I actually wear it on occasion. I also have a set of tails, but I just don't go to places that require tails very often any more.

Tthe countries we have visited are all eu, so rabies and worms shots etc are required, but that's it. Scotty is really a well traveled dog, sweden, norway, germany, poland, portugal, france spain, belgium, holland, luxemburg, italy. She's gone everywhere with us.

    Hi nia,

We managed the big time with a big band playing, lots of dancing, champagne and you name it. Taxi home. But we got at 4 am, which is like hugely past my bedtime. And I did pay a price the next day, which I spent crashed out on a sofa watching old john wayne and clint eastwood movies. That was about all the intellectual stimulation my body could stand.

Scotty is our skipper dog and goes everywhere with us. She is quite the sailor having sailed with us to four countries now. She actually doesn't mind sailing although she is unhappy if the waves are too high.

Unfortunately she is getting old and her time is probably up. We will miss her desparately when it happens. She has been a wonderful family member for many years now.

But she looks quite the aristocrate in the pic - doesn't she? Actually she loves everyone and will pester you all evening if you start to stroke her (no she is NOT spoiled). :-)

    Hi nia,

We're going across the harbour into downtown. Tuxedo and the works. Some huge shindig, I hope it is a good as it is supposed to be. But we are a group so we can make our own fun. How about you?

    Hi Nia,

We haven't heard from you in a while. Hope you haven't "sailed into the sunset". Missed saying merry christmas so I'll just say Happy new year.

Hey cowgirl sailor, how is the world treating you this month. It has been awhile since I have heard from you. Have a happy Thanksgiving.

Back then I think they were for local entertainment. Now it's about the money. But I can say they are more concerned about safety and animal abuse. It is a dangerous occupation. One has to take care around large animals. I've seen too many people hurt, 3 just in my immediate family. I think sailing is a lot safer! ;-)

Both towns If I remember right. I lived on this side of the Cascades in Troutdale, OR, close to Gresham. My mother was the vice president of the pinto assoc. So as a teen I had to help out with the horses for the shows. Lots of old memories but fading away.

Howdy! I noticed right off that you were over the mountains. Made me think of the Indian rodeo's I went to as a kid.
    Hope you enjoy the forum!

I found my home with wind filled sails and salt and waves across the bow. Why o why did it take so long for me to get here? Thank God I am here now.
