It was in charter with a small company. It had been a Moorings boat with the prior owner. We decided on the model and started looking at what was available. This one popped up while we had an active offer on another boat. It sounded attractive, so we canceled the other offer and wound up with a reasonable deal. It was an 'as-is' offer, since we were pretty confident in the survey. We participated in the survey. You can expect to pay in the $210K - $230K range. The market for these boats is pretty good, with active buyers and active sellers. We saw boats in worse shape going for the same price that we hit. We under estimated how much we'd need to put into the boat by about $2500, which isn't bad. It had a bad heat exchanger on one engine and we allocated $2k and it was just over $4K to fix. Volvo parts are expensive.

Rather then 'reinvent the wheel' here, there are some very good threads about your plans, e.g. "importing a boat to australia" !

If there's something specific of interest or concern, why not post it there...and we'll 'chirp in' along with many others with similar experience?
