Bad terminology on my part perhaps but I meant a flow approximation based on the rule of twelfths tidal height approximation, ie rule of twelfths approximation puts tidal height rise in the 3rd and 4th hours to be 3x the first and 6th hours and 1.5 times the second and fifth, I was doing a similar thing with current to approximate a sinusoid, so peak flow of Nkts in hours 3+4, (2*N)/3kts in 2 and 5, N/3kts in 1 and 6. obviously that's super rough, ebb and flow rates aren't necessarily the same and flows don't stay in 1 direction and flip 180 degrees at slack but it really was just back-of-an-envelope-after-a-couple-of-rums-to-get-a-rough-idea
