    Hello Mr Schulpen,

I have stopped all work on my fork of the OpenCPN plugin 'Calculator_pi' until the situation has become clear.

Now that the problem of compiling on Windows has been resolved there is no need for two versions of the plugin. If you are still happy to work on this plugin I will delete my GitHub fork as soon as possible. If you need an installer for Windows I can provide this from your code, when it has been updated to resolve the various issues.

I do not wish to 'collaborate' on any plugin, as I feel it only introduces complications. I am happy to make a suggestion for resolving an issue on GitHub.

Do you still intend maintaining this plugin?

    Best regards,
    Mike Rossiter (Rasbats)

    Hi SaltyPaws,
I've seen your SAR plugin for OpenCPN and I have a work which consist of developing a Visual Basic .NET language program to simulate search operations on ships and test the expanding square search pattern. The initial position of the vessel is (5, 5) and it is intended to look for a shipwreck that can be in any position within a square with lower left at (0, 0) and upper right at (10, 10), with the coordinates in nautical miles. The program must inform the user if the shipwreck is found as well as the time elapsed since the simulation started.
In addition to the main objective, the following additional objectives are stipulated:
    • Graphical representation of the ship's course and the position where the shipwreck is found.
    • Automation of the follow-up for a given value of S.
    • Determine the success rate for a 3-mile S, after 1000
simulations, for a speed of 15 knots (using a cycle).
Hope you could help me with coding this.
    Best of regards,
    GoldenBeard

    Hi SaltyPaws,
I am a member of the Australian Volunteer Coast Guard.
I really like you SAR plugin for Opencpn. We usually use Parallel search patterns. Is there a way to update your plugin to add more search vessels to the search pattern. If there was an option to input the number of search vessels and the distance between them, and have it generate correct gpx routes for all vessels in different colours, and be able to save individual routes ie: vessel1SAR.gpx, vessel2SAR.gpx... etc. to email to each vessel for opening in their Opencpn / plotter.
This would be a fantastic tool for marine SAR organisations.

I have only done a bit of pascal and basic programming years ago, but if I could help in any way, I would be happy to.

    Regards,
    Jim Middleton

We have found the 33kg Rockna more than adequate. The 40 is a really big anchor and would probably fit as with the 33 there is approximately 25cm between end of shaft and windlass. Sorry about late response.
