    Biography
    My father-in-law built this schooner, with assistance from my husband, 40+ years ago, in the barn on his farm. Though he'd only sailed small boats as a child, he thought the design was beautiful (designed by Roger Long, a naval architect of research vessels) and wanted to build it. He was able to do some sailing on the Chesapeake and sailed her back from Maine on her first trip there in 1990. My husband and I have kept her going since, rebuilding, refitting, and way too much varnishing. Mostly on the Chesapeake Bay, but have done a number of trips to Maine. We sail when we can, but life and other interests limit our time afloat.
