    Hi everyone, I'm a single sailor with plans to one day permanently untie and see the world. I've traveled a bit when I was younger, but not enough. Lived in Christchurch most of my life. I'm really enjoying living in such a dynamic city post-earthquakes (touch wood) and being part of that and making a contribution. I recently attained boat master quals and chartered in the Marlborough Sounds (profile photo) I've also been doing a bit of crewing at Lyttelton but looking forward to the shift from land-based to a more fluid existance (in many ways)
    Not sure what happened, but I decided a few years ago I wanted to sail around the world. Clich'ed I know but at the age I was at, it was either that or buy a Harley or get some rediculous sports car and a 25 yr old blond. Neither of those ideas had sustainable appeal, and now here I am 5-6 years later, single with grown up kids and starting to see that sailing around the world is looking more and more like reality.
    We spend our lives chasing time, with various electronic gadgets (designed supposedly to give us more time) beeping and buzzing at us to remind us where to go and what to do. One day soon I'm going to have a cerimonial smashing of my wristwatch and live life making decisions based purely on weather, location and hunger or thurst level.
