i am 70 and retired with lots of free time.
Marinas are between 400 and 500 a month. You can buy a slip ,about 10k, but you still have 250 a month of h.o.a. ( pool,bar,laundry,etc).
I used a friends slip at lightkeepers village and paid his hoa for the winter.
I kept my first 405 in georgetown in front of the riverwalk. Moorings are there. No one owns them. I kept one for 6 months ,free of charge. Left dinghy at dinghy dock. Kind of shallow. My 8ft draft was a problem.
We also have a oceanis 311 without a mast that we motored to Conway via the waccamaw. Its at the city marina and i pay 150 a month. We are refiting her at this time.
