If I get back to San Diego to visit my daughter some year I'd like to meet up with you for a beer or something. I used to teach sailing out of the Coronado Naval Sailing Club years ago and you sound like someone who really knows his stuff. The only square sail I ever rigged was on a 55 foot Marco Polo Schooner.
Good to have another old crustie on the forum.
