    Biography
I have been a professional jewelry designer and world traveler for most of my adult life. I’m accustomed to working hard and relying on myself: I’ve worked on fishing boats, tended bar, lived in Bali and San Francisco, and taught myself to snowboard and ski. But a few years ago, I found myself really struggling. I was seriously exhausted, spending more and more time in bed. I thought it was burnout. It never crossed my mind I had a serious illness.

I’m incredibly lucky; my illness turned out to be far less life-threatening than my doctors originally thought. After my recovery , I asked myself "what makes me feel alive? " and I promised myself I would go and do it.

I'm experienced with watch keeping, navigation, ocean passages and life at sea. I like to provision, cook and help out with whatever needs doing. I am easy-going, organized, well-spoken, social and hospitable. I have PADI certification, CYA Day Skipper certification, a restricted marine radio operators license and professional culinary training. I am a dual citizen of Canada and Britain with valid passports for both. Financially secure and able to share expenses. Crewed most of 2010 – 2012 on sailboats in Mexico, the Canary Islands, Morocco, the BVI's to the Bahamas, Curacao to San Blas, Panama and Greece. The rest of my sea time was as a young person working 8 seasons as a commercial fishing deckhand between British Columbia and Alaska. I left that industry to do something creative, but missed the lifestyle immensely. I've been told I am a fast learner with good common sense and that my ocean experience really shows. I'd like a new purpose and to develop an endeavour (whether shared or not - but more fun when shared) that involves a yachting lifestyle. References available on request.
