Hello Tellie, I have a Newport 400 with 1830 hrs on it.
Salinity 550, Feed Water PSI 98-104, strainer OK, brine water output 3 gpm, Prefilter showing midway between good and replace, only getting 11 to12 GPH Product Water. What could be wrong? Is it possible to contact you? Jim Wengler

Hi Tellie: I have a Spectra Catalina, probably a 2004 to 2006 vintage...I think, not sure. Here is what is happening...I start the system, after about 5 minutes, the pump noticeably slows down...you can hear it, to the point that it pretty much stops. There is an overflow outside the boat as normal, I switch it to "manual" no change. I have not as yet checked the voltage at the pump....it just started doing this. Our boat is in Antigua, the watermaker guy there says he has never encountered this before, to contact Spectra tech and see what they say....I thought maybe I should run this one by you first. There are 1400 hours on the system, I put in all new filters, even though the others were all good, just in case....to no avail. Any ideas? Thanks!

Tellie - what happened with spectra since they owned by Katadyn ? I wait for spare parts since months. Should I complain once at catadyn here in my neigborhood ?? Or what is your experience ?? I'm Swiss - but not sure if they know what it means to deal with yachties ......

    Hello Tellie,
I have purchased a second hand Catalina 300 (MKII?) Spectra. I am wondering what the differences are between the 300 and the 300 MKII? Also, I understand you sell replacement membranes? And various other filters?
Thank you Doug SV Drakus lying in Oriental NC

    BRAIN PICKING TIME PLEASE.

I have just been 'gifted' a Clark pump & 40" membrane off of a hurricane wrecked boat here in St Martin. I want to get it working again can I buy all the bits from YOU

I have no idea which model this was? Are the Clark pumps different on the various models or is it the other bits that make the models different?

I was thinking two feed pumps With an option to switch one or both on. I will need all the gauges hoses and fittings for a manualy controlled version. I can/could buy all the ironworks and felxible mounts to mount the pump and the membrane as a single unit.

Also I am probably looking for an electronic TDS meter as well as twin flow gaguges/meters.

You do seem like an EXPURT!!! so as I truly hate reinventing the wheel I thought I should ask yourself. IF you would prefer I went 'public' with this so that the whole community can benefit (AND COMMENT :-( ) I am quite happy to post on the forum.

    Tellie,

I'm specking a new boat and trying to decide between the Catalina340Z and the Cape Horn Xtreme 330. My builder likes the Cape horn for redundancy and simplicity. I'm planning a circumnavigation so that's important. I had a Catalina 300 and liked the MPC 5000 controller so I'm torn. The boat is a lightweight cruising cat so an extra 50 lb's is something I don't want to add unless there is a real advantage. Can you highly the benefits of the new Catalina340Z.

Also, do you recommend the Z-ion?

    Hello Tellie,

Next month we are getting the boat out of dry storage, and I would like to get a new membrane for our Catalina 300. Filmtec SW30-2540, correct?

How can I order one of these from you? Cost?
