    Hello txpilot,

i just found an Alaska-Kamchatka thread and i am a bit interested in this sailing passage. I would ask for some information. I am considering to cross the bering-straight in winter 15/16 by hitchhiking planes and everything else which is moving from a to b. I am not sure yet, if all will work out the way i hope (permit). So i am trying to develop alternative plans. Sailing this route would be one of it.

Can you tell me how much sailors are going this route every year? From which ports you usually leave? How is it with permissions for Kamchatka? How long does the tour take?

I already crossed the atlantic successfully. I have a big dream which is, doing a technically clear hitchhiking around the world. I am very eager to finish this tour and fullfill my dream, whatever happens. The north-west crossing is the most difficult part of my trip, so i am very happy about some extra informations.

    Thanks in Advanced,

    Stefan
