Navico/Simrad/B&G Halo Radar -- Undocumented ARPA?

I have changed out the second chart plotter and now have full functionality of my Halo24 radar.

Lo and behold, MARPA really works!! First time I've ever used a radar set with MARPA that was worth anything. It gives uncannily good calculations of CPA, TCPA, SOG and COG (comparing to AIS data from the same target), and holds a lock very well. Totally different beast from MARPA on my previous 4G radar, which was terrible (even if everything else about that radar was great).

But here's an odd thing -- there is no "Select Target" in the radar menu. That was how the 4G worked and that is what's in the manual for my current version Zeus 3S plotters. Instead, there is "Watch Target", which seems to have the same function, but then once you've started this system up, it seems to start to select other targets on its own --an ARPA function.

What is this about? Not a word in the documentation. Anyone know?

Another puzzle -- in case someone understands these units.

How do you do zoned instrument lighting? Can't find it anywhere in the wacky menu structure.

I sailed a few thousand miles with Zeus 3S plotters in another boat and i wouldn't have thought it would be so hard to figure all this out. Seems there has been a major software update which didn't make it into the documentation yet.

Download the latest manual here. https://softwaredownloads.navico.com...M_EN_004_w.pdf

Read starting around page 89.
Tracking Zones will auto follow targets that enter those zones.

Target & Guard Zones are different.
