My vote would be for the Bristol 27 because I know how strong mine is at a cost of $2,000, and the one in the post above cost $1,000 and also crossed three oceans


You do have to rough it a bit though on a boat like the Bristol 27 because there are few modern conveniences

Yeah I think the old school 30 footers are good blends of sea-worthy traits, livable volume and ease of handling packed into a small package. I definitely considered a CD before I got my boat and my buddy's Cheoy Lee Luders 30 is also a good choice IMO. One of my complaints of 30 footers though is that the interior layout often tries to make a small boat look like a bigger boat on the inside, and useful volume goes to waste.

Alberg 30 would be a good choice. They are abundant and built well. You can easily find a good one ready to go for under $10000 USD. The only thing lacking is storage but any reasonable person could cruise one wherever.
