Cal 2-29, Hunter 30, Ericson 29, O'Day 28

My wife and I own a 1993 Hunter 30T and love her. We are planning our 2nd crossing this year to the Berry Islands Bahamas this coming Saturday for 3 weeks. Our 30T has made countless crossings in good and bad weather and in large seas. She's plenty seaworthy and can take more abuse than we ever could. I stand a tad under 6'1" and have several inches of headroom throughout the salon. I agree with Nautical 62 about the awkward v-berth height and the poor ventilation in the aft berth so you should plan on a few items to address these issues. We installed 12v fans in both berths and main salon to address the ventilation issue. Another item to look closely at is the holding tank. If its aluminum and not already corroded it will be soon. We removed the entire head system and went with a Airhead composting toilet, "This is best boat purchase we have ever made" We now only have 2 through hulls under the back berth, one for engine raw water and the other for our soon to be installed Watermaker. The Iron keel is a PITA and has spot rust to address every year at haul out but its not hard to clean up. Both my wife and I agree the two of us could live aboard her full time if we so desire. Other upgrades include an Atlantic arch and davits, Air-conditioning, auto-pilot, wind generator and solar panel. I don't think you will find one from the late 80s or early 90s for under 30k though.
