Gemini 105MC and Legacy

We are looking at buying a 105 in the next few months but would also be interested in the Legacy but we have never sailed on of them. We will be heading down the Caribbean after next years hurricane season.
For those that own or have sailed the Legacy, how does it compare with the 105? It appears to have the bridge deck a good bit lower, how is the hull slap?
Basically, would you buy it again, is it worth the cost difference, good boat for live aboard for several months at a time?
My wife REALLY loves the Legacy and the way they changed the cockpit.

Thanks for looking

Re: Gemini 105MC and Legacy

First, I have not sailed on a Legacy, however I have been aboard one at almost every boat show I attend. Although they look similar, they are really two different boats.

My wife also loves the interior layout and more "yacht type" finish of the Legacy. I prefer the functionality of the 105Mc . Retractable centerboards, retractable rudders, Retractable outdrive and a single diesel motor to maintain.

Of course twin motors will provide much more control in tight quarters.

For some reason, at least to me, the Legacy feels smaller than the 105Mc.

One thing I will say is that, Hunter produced the initial models of the Legacy. When Hunter went under, Catalina started producing them. I have been on both models side by side. The Catalina models, at least in my opinion, have a much better "fit and finish".
