Cabo Rico NE400 Feedback

Interested in feedback on a Cabo Rico NE400. Interested in boat as a retirement plan, to cruise the west coast from SE Alaska to Mexico. Interested in sailing characteristics, and ability to handle some offshore duty. Don't expect it to out sail a J boat, but don't nt a barge with a mast either. Any feedback is welcome.

Thanks

Welcme to the forum!

I just took a look via Google. It's a motorsailer on the skeg hull of the 42 footer which really never caught on.
Bill Crealock didn't design the 42 footer.

I enjoyed the workmanship of my Cabo Rico 38 and the rugged heavy displacement charateristics.

I have one and have sailed her for the last ten years or so. Superb motorsailer, good sailboat - very stiff, surprisingly fast but needs drifter/ spinnaker in light winds. Modest draft, well protected prop. Still haven't found a better combination out there!
